MEDIA

The media plays an integral role within the context of Missing Persons. It can be a powerful tool for awareness raising, but it’s equally important that the families and friends of missing loved ones are supported through the process, since they’re often in a state of shock, a vulnerable position, and without previous experience of dealing with journalists.

Missed provides guidance for families who wish to liaise with the media, and provides specific and general commentary to the media upon request.

We appreciate any opportunity to give the public an insight into the lived experience of those left behind, as well as delivering key messages that aim to humanise missing people and reframe Missing Persons as the community issue it is.
