WEB page search bars will be used to find the 100 Australians reported missing every day.
A world-first initiative called Help Find Me leverages the internet’s most important feature, the search bar, which has the potential to reach almost every Australian.
When a user lands on a participating website and uses the search function, a profile and image of a missing Australian will automatically pop up.
The initiative, led by the Missing Persons Advocacy Network, has already been supported by corporate Australia, with many companies donating the use of their website’s search bar for the next seven days.
Founder and chief executive of MPAN Loren O’Keeffe said the idea came from international marketing firm Grey Group in Singapore.
“Every year they have a corporate social responsibility program where they choose one charity to support with marketing,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
