Driving through Cadell, South Australia, you might see Barnett’s General Store and a mural of Ryan Chambers. The 21-year-old went missing 14 years ago while on a gap year in India. Created by street artist Joel Van Moore with the support of Ryan’s parents and the MPAN, the mural aims to raise awareness for long-term missing persons. MPAN has commissioned nearly 30 artworks to humanise missing individuals and connect with families. While the project hasn’t solved any cases yet, it reignites public interest and ensures Ryan’s story is not forgotten.
