12 For Tina Charity Dinner

On 1 June 2024, The Missed Foundation was the beneficiary of the 12 for Tina Charity Dinner, hosted by The Tina Greer Project. The event, attended by over 90 guests, commemorated Tina Louise Greer while raising funds to support The Missed Foundation’s work with families of long-term missing loved ones.

The evening focused on education, remembrance and community. Lili Greer, past Board member and now staff member at The Missed Foundation, spoke about her personal connection to the cause and the importance of creating space for public understanding of an often-overlooked issue.

Guest speaker Professor Sarah Wayland, a leading researcher in the field of missing persons and ambiguous loss, offered attendees deep insight into the emotional and psychological complexities experienced by families left without answers. Her work has played a pivotal role in shaping responses to the long-term missing persons families in Australia.

Loren O’Keeffe, CEO and founder of The Missed Foundation, spoke about The Missed Foundation’s purpose, to humanise missing loved ones, alleviate the impact on their families and friends, and transform the way society responds. She outlined the ongoing advocacy, training and support work being done to ensure that families of long-term missing persons are not left behind.
