Working with the media

The media plays an integral role within the context of missing persons. It can be a powerful tool for awareness raising, but it’s equally important that the families and friends of missing loved ones are supported through the process, since they’re often in a state of shock, a vulnerable position, and without previous experience of dealing with journalists.

In 2024, we’re pleased to have commenced working on the creation of media guidelines via a collaboration with Everymind and Assoc. Prof. Sarah Wayland.
