Vodafone, 6 December 2016
Vodafone has introduced a new dedicated “missing persons” policy so family and friends of customers listed as missing can better manage their account.
Its believed to be the first policy of its kind by an Australian telco company and only came into effect several days ago.
The new procedure will give “authorised representatives” permission to manage and make account-related decisions on behalf of a Vodafone customer who is a missing person.
That representative will be able to cancel or transfer a missing person’s phone plan once they have provided an Australian Federal Police (AFP) Missing Person’s Report reference number and a statutory declaration.
